Description
Photograph of the ruins of squatters' huts in San Pedro, 1936. The huts were destroyed when the pier was torn down. The two houses in the foreground at left have slipped backwards and rest at precarious angles. The wooden boards that served as porches have been torn up. There is an illegible sign on the house furthest to the left. The houses further in the distance are still intact, and smoke is pouring from the chimney of one of them.
