Description
View of an older man, most likely determined to be William Weldt (1820-1907), who was an early settler and farmer in Wilmington, California. He is in front of a wooden house with a windmill in the background.
"G.W. Hazard Photo"--text on image. Title transcribed from item. Date range approximated by cataloger based on the year that film negatives came into use and the latest known dates indicated for other Hazard images in the Huntington's collection. Note: this is a print - the original negative is not in this collection. Research shows this is most likely William Weldt (1820-1907), who is buried at Wilmington Cemetery. He was the father of Joseph Ambrose Weldt (b. 1868), who was a prominent businessman of San Pedro, -Source: Guinn, J.M.
