Description
Taken from the intersection of Sixth and M Streets this 1925 photograph shows a busy avenue leading toward the western façade of the California State Capitol building. Visible are several automobiles, a street car and a cyclist. M Street – as it ran from the Tower Bridge to Alhambra Boulevard – was changed to Capitol Avenue by vote of the Sacramento City Council in October 1940.
