Description
Vaso Mayer is an immigrant from Isari, a small farming village in the Peloponnesian area. She was born January 11, 1931. Her parents were farmers. She came to Sacramento as a bride in 1954. Her husband was also Greek and lived in the United States since 1910. When her husband first arrived her worked on the rails in Kansas City, Kansas. He later worked for Armour and Company and transferred to the plant in San Francisco. Vaso and her husband later settled in Sacramento. Vaso worked as a restaurant cook for thirty years.
