Photograph caption dated April 30, 1958 reads, "Motorists approaching traffic signal at Osborne street and Haddon avenue in Pacoima were confronted with dilemma of finding no green light in one fixture. Blinking orb had been effectively covered by pair of ambitious sparrows that built thick straw nest."
