Description
Illustrated map of Long Beach-Signal Hill Tour no. 7. Starting at City Hall in downtown Los Angeles, the tour goes south on Main, east on Slauson to Huntington Park, then down Pacific Ave. through the cities of Walnut Park, South Gate and Lynwood. The tour passes the Firestone plant (illustrated on the map) with its proto-Assyrian facade. After Lynwood, the tour passes through truck gardens (illustrated) on Long Beach Blvd. to No. Long Beach (next to the Virginia Country Club), then American Ave. to downtown Long Beach and the Pacific Ocean. The tour returns via Cherry Ave., passing the Signal Hills oil fields (illustrated by oil derricks), the Long Beach Municipal Aiport and the tank farms, then to Hynes, Clearwater and Rancho Los Amigos via Paramount Blvd., on to Downey and its orange groves, returning to downtown via Telegraph Road. The map also shows the Los Angeles River and the L.A. County Flood Control Channel.
