Description
Henry and Connie begin the interview discussing his personal experience living through the last half of the Twentieth-century from fleeing Nazi Germany to his work as a journalist and managing editor of Time magazine. In a wide-ranging discussion, Henry discusses a variety of topics and personalities. For example, Henry discusses his work covering the Whittaker Chambers/Alger Hiss story. In addition, Henry also talks about the formal editorial that he wrote during the Watergate scandal asking President Richard Nixon to resign. Henry also talks about President Ronald Reagan appointing him U.S. Ambassador to Austria in 1987 and the fall of the Soviet Union. Connie and Henry end the interview discussing some of the issues, like tribalization or balkanization, that he sees as problematic for America’s future.
