Description
"One year ago W.F. Marshall becane a resident of Monrovia, having just completed a handsome nine-room modern cottage at the corner of White Oak and Primrose avenues. A number of years previous Mr. Marshall became interested in "the Gem of the Foothills" and purchased one of the best five acres in the city, on west White Oak avenue. This orchard is now in full bearing and yielding a profitable crop of oranges. He has been a resident of the county for a good many years, most of the time living in Los Angeles. But there is no place for him like Monrovia for a home. He is a great lover of pure water and pure air, both of which is found here. Mr. Marshall is a member of the California Hardware Co., los Angeles, and goes to the city every day." Monrovia Messenger Souvenir Edition 1897. About 148 W White Oak (Foothill). William F and Olive G Marshall lived there until they built a larger home across the Street that became the Masonic Temple.
