Description
The beginning of the recording has Olin Timm discussing the history of property purchased by his grandfather and various individuals from the Mexican Land Grant during the mid-1800s in the Dixon area. The Timms immigrated from Germany and settled in Dixon in the 1860s. The remainder of the tape describes early school reminiscences by members of the Dixon Historical Society and about their experiences attending country schools and Dixon High School in the early 1900s. Note on original container: Olin, This is the tape from today - not quite at the beginning of your talk (the batteries ran out and were replaced) I have the tape from the oral history tape recorder with all of the school reminiscenses on it.
