Photograph article dated November 1, 1946 partially reads, "Sally Rand, who fanned herself to fame, was booked in Lincoln Heights jail, Los Angeles, today on charges of appearing in an indecent show. Sadly she complained: 'It costs me a lot of money to prove that what I do is art.'"
