Description
Many of the so-called "break-proof" dollar chains were broken today in Los Angeles when police officers raided and closed several of the "dollar chain service stations." And the rest will soon be broken; the city council passed an emergency law prohibiting chain letter stores. Photo shows a crowd gathered outside a "dollar shop" at 959 South Grand Avenue after it was raided. Photo dated: May 23, 1935.
