Description
Five women are depicted. The woman at the top left wears a white cap trimmed with lace, pink flowers, and pink ribbons. Her dress is lavender with long sleeves and a white collar, with a brooch at the center. Her jacket is bright blue and edged with white ermine fur. The women in the center wears her hair dressed with ribbons and holds a pink rose in her right hand. Her light blue dress is off the shoulder and trimmed with wide white lace at the neckline and hem of the peplum of the bodice. Her bodice is extremely pointed and trimmed with wide double bows at the front. She wears bracelets on both wrists. The woman at the top right wears her hair in an elaborate arrangement of multiple braids with yellow flowers. Her dress is white with an off the shoulder neckline edged in narrow ruffles with a pleated bodice. Three gold cameos adorn the center front of the neckline and the center of each short pleated sleeve. The bodice waistline is extremely pointed. She wears two bracelets on each wrist, gloves, and carries a closed fan in her right hand. The woman at the bottom left wears a pink bonnet with matching flowers and ribbon. Her dress is light brown, long sleeved, and has a narrow white collar, a small peplum and a straight waistline. The jacket buttons down the center and at the cuffs, and is trimmed in masculine style with horizontal rows of military braid. The woman at the bottom right wears a white lace cap with pink ribbons and trailing pink flowers and leaves . Her dress is deep green with long sleeves and a floral pattern down the front and at the cuffs which might be braid or embroidery. The dress has a white lace collar with a pink bow in the center of the jewel neckline. She is seated on a red cushioned chair, and looks back at the woman in brown, who rests her arm on the chair back.
