Photograph caption dated April 1, 1963 reads "A new heliport to provide quicker access to the Pacoima Memorial Lutheran Hospital in cases of emergency was dedicated with the fly-in of a sheriff's helicopter to test the new facility. In a demonstration of the new airborne service, patient is wheeled from a sheriff's helicopter to waiting doctors for simulated emergency treatment."
