The 9th Academy Awards ceremony took place on March 4, 1937 at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, California.; The Walt Disney animation that won Best Animated Short Film was in fact titled 'The Country Cousin.'
Photograph caption dated, March 5, 1937 reads, "Walt Disney, who won the animated cartoon prize for 'A Country Cousin,' is shown at left with his award. At right is Jack Chertok, who won the best short subject award for 'The Public Pays,' which he produced at M-G-M."
