Photo caption reads: "The Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, who operate the Los Angeles Orphanage and also give assistance to the city's sick and needy in hospitals, tenements and prisons, are helped by the Ladies of Charity in the performance of their duties. Here, Mrs. Francis Regan assists Sister Frances and the children load a basket for the poor at the Los Angeles Orphanage. The Ladies now are assisting the orphanage to raise $750,000 to replace the present orphanage building". Los Angeles Orphanage is at 917 South Boyle Avenue. Photograph dated November 23, 1950.
