Pictured in circa 1907 is the meeting hall at the Elks Temple at 824 J Street. The room was 43 by 60 feet in size with a height of 32 feet. It was also fitted with a miniature stage for live entertainment, a spring floor for dancing, and an attached banquet hall for dining. The balcony to the left of the photograph could be sealed off for private meetings.
