Description
A photograph, "Geineschter Chor der Ersten-Deutschen-Methodisten Kirche, Los Angeles, Calif," 1928. The view shows thirty-three men and women of the choir posed with a sign bearing the title and next to an organ in a church with dark good panneling and two American flags hanging above them. At the bottom margin is the ink inscription "1928." The First German Methodist Church was built in 1910 from a design by Albert Walker and John Vawter on Olive Street just north of Fifth and it remained in operation until 1988 when it was demolished for a Gas Company building. The church relocated to Eagle Rock and then Glendale, where it remains. With some album paper residue and light soiling, the condition is good.
