Firemen scamper up extension ladders at a burning Perino's Restaurant on September 10, 1954. Flames raced through the bar and dining room, leaving them charred shells. Damage to the restaurant, a rendezvous for the Southland's elite, was estimated at $250,000. Probers believe the fire started when someone left a cigarette in an upholstered chair. Architect: Paul Williams.
