Description
The Hotel Vendome sits among beautifully landscaped grounds planted with flowers and trees. A gazebo sits in the center in front of the hotel. The hotel was built in 1889 on the 11-acre estate of Josiah Belden, an early mayor of San Jose. At the time it was the most luxurious hotel in San Jose. The hotel was demolished in 1930 and replaced by houses. This postcard is almost identical to CAL-PC-164.jpg.
