Melvin McCartney, kneeling, helps remove the 1950 Lancaster Library dedication plaque from the Library entrance as (from left) Anna Davis, Joseph M. Pollard, Mabel Weaver, Jim Jackson stand nearby. The Library was relocated that year to a new location on Kingtree Avenue and Avenue J. On back of photo: "#27190, 1964, Joseph M. Pollard, Anna Davis, Mabel Weaver, Jim Jackson, Melvin McCartney, Lancaster Library". The Lancaster Library was also known as the Antelope Valley Regional Library.
