Captured is the storefront of two prominent Sacramento businessmen; partners in a real estate, insurance, and loan brokerage firm “Nathan and Michel” established by Frank E. Michel and Isador C. Nathan in 1906.
Frank E. Michel died in 1946 and Isador Nathan retired in 1924, though keeping a desk in the “Michel and Nathan” offices until 1957.
Nathan and Michel’s first Sacramento location was at 1012 7th street. The firm later relocated to 708 J Street during the redevelopment period of the 1960’s, around the time this image was taken.
