Exterior view of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church located at 950 East 45th Street in L.A. It is a strong, large stone structure with a unique belfry. The front shows two large octagonal windows above the main entrance, which has several steps leading to four wooden doors. A large sign above these doors reads "Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church" and lists the names of the current pastors, which are illegible as the writing is so small. A gated parking lot can be seen on the left. This particular church has undergone several name changes and has been home to several ethnic groups; verso on photograph says that in 1920 this church was known as First Reformed Presbyterian, in 1930 the name was changed to First Hungarian Reformed, and in 1940 the name was once again changed becoming Japanese Reformed Church. It does not, however, list when it acquired its current name. Photo dated: April 22, 2004.
