Photograph caption dated December 26, 1956 reads "Strange patterns show northern reaches of Chalk Hills and plumes of dust and smoke mark end of an era when empty rolling hillsides framed the rural picture which was East Woodland Hills. Some 130 quality homes are being built today on one half and one quarter acre sites along east crest of the hills to add to the 400 homes now composing community. According to Chamber of Commerce president Jesse McIlan, entire population of area now consists of 2,500 to 3,000 persons. There has been no tract type of home development in area to date. Eastwood Village completes transition from old to new, and theater soon to be built on Ventura east of Corbin will be final touch to urbanization of area."; See images #00118492 through #00118499 for all photos in this series.
