A letter from Eileen Chang to C.T. Hsia, 1968. In this letter dated July 1, Eileen Chang mentions that since she wrote a prelude for "Yuan Nu" and talks about "Hong Lou Meng", she begins to write some essays about "Hong Lou Meng" ("Hong Lou Meng Yan"). She also mentions that writer Yin Yunpeng came to visit her. She also asks Hsia to write a prelude for "Hai Shang Hua". "Wang Ran Ji" changes its title to "Ban Sheng Yuan". Then she mentions that she likes Zhang Hengshui. The envelope has two USPS 6 cents-stamps with dated stamp of 2 July, 1968 Boston, Mass. and is addressed to "Mr. C.T. Hsia, 415 West 115th Street, Apt. 22, New York, N.Y. 10025." with from address "Chang, 83 Brattle St., Apt. 45, Cambridge, Mass. 02138."The New York address was crossed out. Written in ball point pen: Please forward "Room 554, Biddle Continuation Center, Indiana Memorial Union, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana 47401." 張愛玲寄給夏志清的信,1968. 這封信註明7月1日寫的. 張愛玲於信中提到因替"怨女"寫序寫到紅樓夢, 因而寫出一部紅樓夢的東西("紅樓夢饜"). 也提到作家殷允芃來拜訪. 另外請夏志清幫"海上花"寫序.
