Description
James Coco discusses his book, The James Coco Diet, which details how he overcame his weight issues and developed a healthy lifestyle. Martinson remarks that this book is really two books in one: one tells of Coco’s life and his struggle with weight, while the other details the specific insights and strategies that make up the Coco diet. Coco details how his experience playing a man eating himself to death, first produced by the Direct Action theatre company, became the catalyst for Coco to modify his lifestyle lest he truly become the character he was portraying. Coco emphasizes both emotional education-how to break out of the destructive mental issues lead to overeating-and food education as the pathways to making effective, healthy food and lifestyle changes. Coco also details the specific recipes and structuring of his house to encourage healthy choices.
