Orderly book of the Northern Department under the command of Philip John Schuyler covers the period from June 1775 to April 18, 1776. Philip John Schuyler was named one of four major generals under George Washington on June 15, 1775. Assigned to the command of the Northern Department, he recruited and provisioned an army for the invasion of Canada.
