Description
Norman Spinrad discusses his science fiction novel, “Child of Fortune.” He begins by talking about his main character: a young woman who must travel from planet to planet working as a prostitute. Spinrad describes that he decided to write a novel with interplanetary travel because he wanted to diversify the science fiction universe, and have civilizations that speak other languages aside from English. His inspiration for the novel is based on his own travels around the world. He describes the challenges he faced when writing from the point of view of a young woman. He ends the interview discussing another one of his novels about Hitler in an alternate universe.
