From the Sacramento Bee caption printed on March 9, 1967: "Sewage effluent from the North Tahoe Public Utility District, diluted by muddy water from melting snow, yesterday poured into Lake Tahoe at the mouth of Snow Creek, which drains a large area behind Tahoe Vista, Lake Tahoe."
