Description
Kem Nunn discusses his book, “Tijuana Straits.” He begins by talking about immigration routes and traveling between California and Tijuana, Mexico. He introduces several characters in the book, a man who loves to surf and a young female lawyer who gets involved with criminals. Nunn describes how he wanted to incorporate the degenerating physical landscape of Tijuana into his book and talk about pollution, oil spills, chemicals getting into the water, and the effects of poisons on humans. He talks about being at the Tijuana border and studying the landscape, and how his passion for surfing was a catalyst for this book. Nunn ends the interview by talking about his education as an artist.
