Description: Photograph caption dated January 23, 1957 reads, "Poundmaster and his mascot - George Farrall, in charge of Burbank Animal Shelter, is busy engaged in his duties as playful kitten makes grab at pencil he is holding. At time photo was taken, little cat was only feline in pound; others had been adopted. Burbank pound is one of finest in United States and is scrubbed-down daily with live steam to insure cleanliness. Most unusual visitor this year was crocodile.
