Description
Marcia Israel-Curley discusses her book, “Defying the Odds.” She begins by explaining how the book is an autobiography of her career in fashion and retail. She details how growing up in poverty provided her with the drive to succeed in life. Her intuition and talent in the fashion world proved to be key in her success when she opened a chain of clothing stores called, “Judy’s.” She goes on to share her opinions concerning labor unions and the problems they presented her business, as well as her innovated approach to customer service. Also in this interview, Israel-Curley discusses her marriages and her struggle to balance being a wife, mother and entrepreneur.
