Description
Donated property was used to build Averill Park, which is one of five major parks in San Pedro. In addition to picnic tables and barbecue pits, this park has a waterfall, meandering streams, dramatic hills, lush greenery, a scenic pond (pictured here), and a gazebo that is frequently used for weddings and wedding photographs. All of San Pedro's parks, including this one, have a view of Los Angeles Harbor, but little notice is paid at how bucolic San Pedro can appear when not looking in the direction of the Pacific Ocean. Photograph dated 2001.
