Description
The Valley to Vietnam series, produced by Sacramento Public Library, traces the arc of experience of Vietnam era veterans living in the Sacramento, California area. Robert Cassinelli's roots run deep in Sacramento with different family members living in Oak Park, Alkali Flat and Colonial Heights. The allure of Air Force and seeing the world drew him soon after graduation from Sacramento High School. As an intelligence officer, he spent stints in Nebraska, Texas, Alaska, Japan, Pakistan, and South Vietnam. From late 1970 to the end of 1971, his experiences with the 7th Air Force in Saigon were powerful and life defining. After the military, his life has been built on advocacy and knowledge.
