Description
View of the Lovell and lower Summit Avenue area of Mill Valley with Mt. Tamalpais in the background, circa 1910. Locations for four places are numbered on the card as follows: "1-Tavern 2-Signal Station 3-Sanitarium 4-Depot." The Sanitarium was never built, and it appears to have been pasted into the photo. Verso: Postmarked July 5, 1912. Addressed to Mrs. George Frame, P. O. Box 662, Manila, P. I. Message reads, "378 Golden Gate Ave. S. F, July 5/12. The Logan ladies here at noon, so will let this go on Nippon Maru tomorrow. Hope you are all well, glad to say we are, hope to hear from you soon, after you get the photos of us both taken here together. We are having fine weather, but quite cool, winds at times. Love to all from yours lovingly, Phoebe Bennetts. Write to me at the News." Description provided by Phil Rhodes.
