Peter Duffy discusses his book, “The Bielski Brothers.” He begins by explaining who the Bielski brothers were. They lived in a small town in Poland during World War II and their father was a miller. The three prominent brothers in the family went on to create a refugee village for Jews hidden in the nearby forest. Duffy discusses the fates of the brothers, which included beatings, burnings and murder. He goes on to explore why the brothers entered the resistance movement and their uneasy alliance with the Russians. Later in the interview he discusses the experiences of some of the brothers who immigrated to the United States following the war.
