Description
Mill Valley in 1900. There are several copies of this image. One is a colorized postcard, the others are black and white photographs and appear to be duplicates. Lovell Avenue, Sulphur Springs, and site of Old Mill School are in center of photograph. Information on the Victorian house on lower middle left can be found in the Houses and Buildings file "105 Molino". Note on back of framed version (version 4) reads "To Richard, As a long time Mill Valley resident, I thought you would enjoy this picture of yester-year. Anna and I have analyzed it several times. Can't locate this Victorian on the left. Your son in law, Jerry"; "It is on 105 Molino where Bill and Sally Garroute's house is now formerly King (?) residence (burned after 1906 fires)";"see house file: 105 Molino." Caption on postcard version reads "Lovell Ave., Sulphur Springs, and site of Old Mill School in center of photograph. Postcard caption: "The Double Bow Knot on the Mt. Tamalpais Railway overlooking San Francisco Bay and City." Version 5 is from negative 1154.
