Description
The couple in the photograph, while not identified, may be Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Cadwallader. In his "History of Turlock" E. J. Cadwallader states he moved his real estate office to Schrieber's corner in 1911. The building in this photo is identified as the Schrieber building located on the corner of West Main and Front Streets. E. J. Cadwallader became the Elmwood (Denair, California) representative for the Whitmore Company of Ceres, Caifornia in 1905. He stated his first real esate office in Turlock was a rented room in the Seims home in 1906 when one only needed to hang out a sign and announce yourself to be a real estate agent.
