Description
Volume contains manuscript recipes for Mexican cuisine. Along with several sopas and other typical dishes, there are recipes with fanciful titles such as pastel Cuauhtémoc and pastel Moctezuma. The vendor suggests the volume was created by a member of the Rivero family, yet the title page suggests the creator was named "Ribera" which could be a version of "Rivera." The initials "V.R." appear on the final page, which is in the same handwriting as other cookbooks attributed to Virginia Rivera. The physical make -up of the volume incorporates remboîtage and decalcomania , and the manuscript was possibly created at a much later date than indicated on the title page Special Collections & Archives, UC San Diego, La Jolla, 92093-0175 (https://lib.ucsd.edu/sca) Text Title from title page Binding: repurposed leather book binding, with applied manuscript paper labels Mexico Ribera
