Los Angeles Times, 24 Jun. 1932: A2. Photograph of sculptor Ernest Yerbysmith with his sculptural relief titled Queen of Angels. Yerbysmith is in his studio located at 1115 Hacienda Place in West Hollywood. The relief was commissioned by Dr. Earl O'Donnell for a new wing of the Queen of Angels Hospital and was to be placed in a special niche. The panel is s depiction of the Coronation of the Virgin Mary by 2 angels as 4 other angels hold a floral wreath around the Virgin, who rests one foot on a mound of stone representing Golgotha. Behind the Virgin are rays of light, textured to resemble, perhaps, planks of wood. Text from newspaper caption: Sculptor With Votive Panel Text from negative sleeve: Yerbysmith, Ernest.
