West, Kate Schmitz, Alice Schmitz and another unknown women posing as a group on the front lawn of the Velzy residence during a party. The women are grouped together in the near distance at center. All but the woman at right kneel on the grass in an arced row and look to the camera. The woman at right sits on the grass, facing left, and looks to the camera. Behind the women, shrubbery lines the edge of the lawn. A neighbor's house stands behind them at left. The street and sidewalk pass alongside the yard at right. Text from negative sleeve: 1875.
