Description
Access to this collection is generously supported by Arcadia funds. Photograph of a hut and other military facilities sitting at the base of a snowy mountainside on Attu Island. The entire landscape is covered in snow. A small hut stands in the near distance, right-of-center. It is viewed at an angle from the front; snow clings to the right side of the hut. Someone stands in front of it. A Quonset hut (partial view) in the distance juts to the left from behind the hut. To left of the near Quonset hut, a group of men stand and a parked jeep sits to the left of them. Another Quonset hut appears to stand further up the mountainside at left. The snow-covered mountainside rises up from left to right, extending out-of-frame. Text from negative sleeve: Aleutians, April 1944. PFC Henry H.
