Description
Ten women are depicted from the waist up in various forms of dress. The top row has six figures, the bottom row has four figures. The woman in the top left hand corner is wearing a pink bow in her hair that matches her pink, fluffy-collared dress. Her hair is dressed in a curled topknot, and in waves or curls on the side. The next woman faces away wearing a plainly sketched high collared gray dress, and displays her dark hair in an elaborate bun. The third figure is a young girl, wearing her blond hair down in loose curls with bangs. She is wearing a white sailor suit and a black flat brimmed hat with a white ribbon. The next woman is wearing a black double breasted coat with white buttons and narrow white braid trimming the notched collar and what seem to be shoulder capes. She wears her hair tied back at the neck with a pink bow. Her hat is a shallow brimmed straw with the brim turned up at the back. It is trimmed with a black ribbon edged with pink with a bow at the front with a small oval pin and an upstanding curled black feather at the back. The next woman faces away and is wearing a light blue jacket with leg o' mutton sleeves. Her blond hair is done up in a bun, and she wears a maroon straw hat with a moderate brim, turned up at the back. The hat is trimmed with a wide white bow, narrower maroon bows, and sprays of matching flowers. The last woman on the right of the top row is wearing a tan waist length cloak decorated with tan braid in patterns of sprays of flowers, with dotted zigzags edged with narrow fringe on the hem and wide lapels. A large black bow fastens the collar with ends hanging to the waist. The first woman at the left of the bottom row faces half away and is wearing a high necked white gown with ruffles at the shoulders. her hair is dressed at the back into a bun and she wears a purple straw hat with a turned up brim decorated with bunches of flowers and green leaves. The next woman wears a masculine style white shirt and a tan double breasted coat with a double collar, leg o' mutton sleeves, and a shoulder cape. Her cap has pleated pink and blue ribbon, two black wings with jet trimmings, and a central tuft of dark feathers with a small posy of pink flowers. The next woman wears a dark brown coat with a yellow scarf draped into the neck. She wears a black cap tied under her chin with gray ribbon over her blond hair which she wears in a braided bun at the back. The cap is trimmed with standing black plumes or lace and gathered black ribbon at the crown. A pouf of pink ribbon is placed under the raised brim at the front. The last woman wears a black coat and a small black lace cap, tied with black ribbon. The cap has a light spotted veil, and has two small poufs of rose pink ribbon. Her gray hair is also dressed in a braided bun. In the bottom right hand corner of the picture is a maroon high heeled buckled shoe, a pair of light blue gloves, a pink hair bow, three walking sticks, and a black spotted lace veil.
