Photograph caption dated May 1, 1956 reads, "Capt. Wolfgang on Gronau, technical advisor for Deutsche Lufthansa Airlines, shows comparison of Donner Wal of 25 years ago and Lockheed Super Constellation. He piloted Donner Wal over polar route in 1931. He predicts supersonic planes will fly from Hamburg at 10 a.m. arriving in New York at 8 a.m. the same day within quarter of century."
