Description
A woman wears a morning dress from 1835. The woman wears a white, long-sleeved morning dress. The sleeves are leg-of-mutton style. The dress has a lace ruffle running from the center front of the waist in a V, extending into wider ruffles forming epaulets over the shoulders. The collar at the neck is wide and edged with lace. Her waist is defined by a white ribbon. The skirt is full and has an ornate flower pattern with a line of small blue bows down the front. A flower patterned border encircles the skirt about three fourths of the way down. She wears a small white bonnet with a narrow double ruffle around her face. The bonnet is decorated with a blue bow at the crown, and has hanging ribbon ties. She wears black ballet slippers. She wears fingerless mitts and wears a ring on her right hand. She holds a small book in her left hand, which she reads, and her right hand rests on her waist.
