Caption dated December 4, 1963 reads, "Freda Evans, 27, 6822 Morella Ave., North Hollywood, told police the gas pedal on her car became stuck Tuesday near the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Rhodes Avenue in North Hollywood. Before she could bring the car under control, it struck a fire hydrant. Workmen were quick on the scene to shut down the resulting geyser. Miss Evans, who escaped injury, brought car under control in vacant lot nearby."
