Description
The Cliff House, first built in 1858, stands on a cliff in western San Francisco overlooking the famous Seal Rocks. This postcard features the third Cliff House, which opened in 1909, after it was extensively remodeled in 1938. Printed on reverse: The Cliff House has been a world renowned restaurant since the first House was built in the year 1858. It overlooks Seal Rocks where hundreds of seals bask in the sun daily and are easily seen from the famous Redwood Room. The seals are protected by state law.
