Description
Allison Burnett discusses his book, “House Beautiful.” He begins by detailing the plot of the novel which tells the story of a summer in New York city in which B.K. Troop, a bipolar, alcoholic, homosexual turns his Manhattan brownstone into a colony for young, struggling artists. Burnett goes on to discuss four film deals that he currently has in production. He explains how his work spans across several genres because he tries to diversify his writing to avoid becoming pigeonholed. Also in this interview Burnett discusses his acceptance by the gay community whom originally assumed he was a gay writer because of his name, Allison, and his choice of a homosexual narrator, only to later discover that he was a heterosexual.
