Photograph caption dated October 20, 1955 reads "Civil Defense officials inspect radiological home shelter built by Harold Stone in his backyard at 6847 Nestle Ave., Reseda. From left are Tim Stone, 6, son of inventor; Stone, and Richard F. Lynch, Los Angeles Civil Defense director. One-room four-person shelter has six-inch walls of steel-reinforced cement and contains food supplies."
