Photograph caption dated January 27, 1964 reads, "A little 6-year-old actress, Debbie Stewart, now appearing in 'Tom Sawyer' at the Young People's Theater, turned the first shovel of ground for the construction of a North Hollywood senior citizen residence. Assisting Debbie is Matt Gorden of Laxineta-Gordon Construction Company, builder. Representing an investment of half million dollars, the building at 10402 Magnolia Blvd. will accommodate 50 or more guests and will include a recreational area, hobby room and complete medical care facility."
