Description
Nicolas Slonimsky discusses his book, “Perfect Pitch: A Life Story.” Slonimsky talks about the time he was the piano teacher of the niece and nephew of the Russian czar and describes “perfect pitch.” He also talks about his Jewish background and says the Jewish were a minority and had no rights to reside in major cities in Russia. Slonimsky goes on to talk about his march and waltz performances, his travels, George Gershwin, Aaron Copland, John Cage, and Igor Stravinsky. He also performs piano pieces during the interview.
